Netzarim Rabbinate

The Netzarim Rabbinate includes all of the rabbis who are members of the International Assembly for Netzarim Judaism that are in good standing. These rabbis may be graduates of our rabbinical program or they may have received semikhah elsewhere and later joined the Netzarim movement. While some of our rabbis serve the IANJ in an administrative and leadership role, all of our rabbis have equal say in the direction the IANJ grows and in Halachic statements.

It is important to understand how a rabbi in the Netzarim Jewish movement differs from those of Rabbinical Judaism. Within Netzarim Judaism, a rabbi is not a judge or arbiter, we are not halachic decisors outside of our own homes and personal lives. The decisions of a Netzarim rabbi are no more binding than the decisions of any other Jew. The Netzarim Jewish rabbi is first, foremost, and always a Torah teacher. The rabbi should be able to help people come to decisions about Jewish legal questions, but ultimately it is always the individual who is responsible for their own actions. Our rabbis set examples of spiritual leadership, may help to organize and lead groups or congregations, or assist in kashering kitchens and homes. But all of these are things that any knowledgeable Jew can do just as well. Ultimately, a rabbi is a teacher of Torah and that is what we emphasize.
